I think I have my period! I changed 2 today. I don't use pads (but have them) and I have been having quite a lot of blood on my under ware. I'm scared to tell my mom and one more question.. Are you supposed to have all the blood at once or does it come once in a while? Please answer!
Thanks!

For most women a period is about 3-6 days, and it's most heavy during the beginning of the period. As days go on it gets lighter and lighter until you stop menstruating. You should expect the first couple days to have to change your pad every 4-6 hours because it will get soaked. You want to continue to change them at that interval as your period gets lighter because you don't want your pad to smell bad or for you to get an infection, but you won't always be soaking the pad.
And tell your mom... every fertile woman on the planet has been through this, including her.

How old are you? You really do need to go to your Mom. She will know what to tell you to do. No girl should be afraid to tell their mom anything. That is what we mothers are for. I would put on a pad. Don't be afraid, it is a natural part of life.

talk to your mom. if you are not comfortable doing that use a pad for now and and talk to her later or talk to the nurse at your school.
