Having a collection sometimes just happens over time. With me it was glass -any nice piece that caught my eye.So i've ended up with a wonderful collection of perfume bottles. But meteorites aside-it should be something that makes you happy(?) or at least pleased you .It can be anything!!My daughter just found out she has a collection-key rings.Hers happened the way some people gather spoons-whenever she went /or her friends went anywhere she ended up with a key ring. Now she has about 200 from every where .Hope you find something you'll enjoy.

Look around, you may already be collecting. Are you looking to collect for a profit? Coins, sports cards, etc... If not, find something you really enjoy and start. My mom collects bird figures (some are cheap and some are really nice). I like precious moments figures. One daughter collects Disney princess dolls and the other one collects Barbies and rocks. You could collect post cards, spoons, or shot glasses from your travels. Some people collect Matchbox cars or action figures. Before you start make sure you will enjoy it, can afford it, and have space for it. Happy Collecting!!

If you are an outdoor type then try something of nature. Odd shaped pieces of wood, rocks, etc. Or, pick an animal you think is cute and you'll find them made of all types of material. In gift stores you'll have to pay more, but second hand stores are great. There's always the cheaper variety stores. If you choose something you really are into, expect to receive future gifts to add to your collection from friends and family (and that's fun). I collect butterflys, owls and Betty Boop stuff. (My name is Betty.)

Nah, collect something that very few other people collect. I collect meteorites! They are readily available on EBay and from dealers at very decent prices, and people think it's a very cool thing you can show them. VERY few people have ever held something from outer space!

I collect rocks. Of course, I am a geologist and I have a natural preference for them. Anytime I travel, and if I am able, I get one from the area that I am at.

I collect fountain pens, chess sets and collars.

Could do odd things like chopsticks or whistles or leg weights or cat condos or book bags.

Simple stuff - recipes, books, statues, rocks, dragons...

Whatever hobbies you already have could offer some great ideas.

Please let us know what you decide on! I'll bet it will be cool.

You should collect ACEO's.

Type in "ACEO" on ebay and hundreds of reasonably priced cards will come up. Google "ACEO" if you don't know what an ACEO is ;)
