I think it's always been a crappy society. You're only happy when you're naive and then you grow up and see all the stupid things that people do. The "good old days" are only memories of when you were young and still thought Santa gave you that bicycle.

They had a sufficient amount of problems too...I think it is loss of faith, humainty and compassion; atheists and theists and agnostics can all get along if they put forth a conceited effort. Peace.

I don't think it was any better, but with the media being so readily available we hear more about the bad stuff than they did. Ignorance is bliss.
