The court suspended your license to drive. That means you are committing a crime by driving, and jail is where they take folks caught committing crimes.

It doesn't matter why your license was suspended.
Whatever the offense, the Judge took away your driving priveleges. That means he felt it was NOT SAFE for you to be on the road.
If you drove anyway, it's against the law and you deserve to be locked up.
