Is there a place i can see a diagram or something?

It does not matter what provider you use. A router connected to a modem works the same way. The only difference is the type of connection. Most DSL's use a PPPOE, most Cable ISP's use Dynamic IP.

A router works the same way regardless of which internet provider that you use. Do you want a diagram of the internet?

Typically you run a cable from the "LAN" or "Computer" jack of the DSL modem to the "WAN" or "Internet" jack of the router. Then you plug computers into the router, or if it's a wireless router, it provides wifi.
