Yeah, you should be ok, just use full PPE - personal protective equipment (gloves apron etc) you'll be fine.

How long has this room needed a major overhaul cleaning? You make it sound like it is in terrible shape. I would suggest that you open windows and let the fresh air circulate for awhile. Be certain to wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, face mask, and maybe even protective goggles. Use only cleaners that are non-toxic but will kill germs and odors. There are so many on the market. You may want to discuss this with your doctor. You may also want to be tested since this is an ongoing problem. It would be even nicer if someone would clean for you. Perhaps you could afford a professional that would clean and be reasonably priced. Do not overwork. Remember to wash your hands throughly before, during, and after. Stop for rest breaks often and make sure you eat and drink plenty of fluids.

It is the feces that causes problems. Hopefully you have removed all the feces.

Get some gloves and just a basic mask and clean that room. If your concerned then hire some professional cleaners. Sounds like the place needs to be disinfected big time. I hope you clean it and keep it clean. There is no reason to have these kinds of smells even with a cat. Please take better care of your home and your baby when it arrives.

The smell of urine isn't good for you either. I can't imagine living like that pregnant or not.

Make sure that if you go to handle any cat litter or waste you put rubber gloves on. It's alright to clean but make sure you don't lift anything too heavy cause it could cause a miscarriage. Cat's tend to spray if there male so make sure you wash your blankets and everything else. Also wipe down your dresser with pinesol or something like that. I had to cat's at it took forever to clean up after them but you will love it when your done a nice fresh smelling room couldnt ask for more

Sounds like you should have been cleaning all along, and you wouldn't have this mess now. You kept a cat in a room??? Why? Clean the room and don't ever get another animal again. I sure hope you take better care of a baby!

The cat feces has a bacteria that can harm your baby. If you can't find someone else to do it for you then just be sure to wear gloves and be careful. If it is just the smell it is fine to clean it, just don't handle feces.

Yes you should clean it but make sure you are not handling cat poo. Try using neutradol carpet shampoo and carpet freshener and you will find the smell has gone.
Congratulations and happy New Year. xx

you just don't want to handle cat feces...so if you avoid that, you should be okay. I'm sure the lingering smell, ect isn't great for you. maybe some nice friend might help you clean up.
