Just wanna know your opinion on if you, personally, prefer working and dealing with a Macintosh, or with a PC, and WHY?

10x for the answers so far, got lots of info, but one thing I really didn't like is the way I got some of it. This is no "battle field" and I asked which one you prefer to work with, not which one you are crazy for or favour or fanatic about...
Eric H: 10x 4 sharing your opinion but the way you did it stinks. Looks to me like you either like to draw people's attention to you into acting like "I'm cool, I say what I want, I don't give a damn, I'm so cool, and again, I so don't care about anything" or you're just pretty bored...eithercase that's not the way ...
I suggest you appologize to Bellatrix !
10x everyone 4 saying what you like/dislike and why, but pls don't go into
"**** all pc users" or " **** all mac users"...
Eithercase I'm not interested in who thinks they can find a better way to offend apple or win, but in getting more background of the pros and cons of mac and pc.

I prefer Linux (Fedora) over both. However, from the two, Windows is a thousand times better. Macs are designed to be easier to use. However, they are also geared towards media editing, although I find Windows does just as good. Most games don't work on a Mac, and it's overpriced (like the iPod).
Macs may get less viruses, but only because they are less common, so people make less viruses for them. With decent virus protection, Windows is just as safe. I haven't had a virus in over a year on my PC...

I have always been very happy with PC's, and borrowing my friend's Mac just annoys me- everything is awkward and seems like it's designed for 2 year olds.
I am just not a fan of Apple as a company. I recently bought a new Ipod to replace one that was stolen, it was exactly the same Ipod bought 4 months later but it wouldn't work with Itunes6- I had to get an upgrade to use it (which was awkward because at the time, my internet didnt work, so I couldnt use it at all for 2 weeks). It's typical of them. They want to keep their stuff elitest, so whenever something new comes out they stop selling all the old stuff. Their computers are always top quality, because the minute they become outdated they are taken off the market. This doesn't mean they're better, it just means there arent a lot of cheaper crapper versions floating around diluting their brand image. And yet people fall for it. If you pay 2000 for a PC it will be just as good as a Mac. And it wont look like a toy.
AE Trono- Never did I say I couldn't cope with a Mac. I said it annoyed me. I cant take their operating system seriously as a 23 year old woman. Sorry thats just my opinion! I could quite easily handle it and use it if I wanted to, and I have plenty of times borrowed my flatmates before I got my laptop. But I was quite relieved to get back to using a grown up computer!
And yes I appreciate that technology moves quickly, but there's no reason- none at all- why they should make an ipod useless to anyone who has not been able to upgrade their itunes in the last 4 months. It was specifically written into the software. Just goes to show how desperate they are to cling on to their pretentious brand image, so that people like you can feel superior as though they belong in a special club. Sad.

I use both Windows and Mac, but I perfer the Mac. It is much easier for me to use. I love how stable and secure the Operating System is. You can get even get Microsoft Office for the Mac. With the new Macs, you can run Windows and Mac on the same computer, which is awesome. I like the PC, but i love the Mac. I have to deal with a PC becuase I am studying Computer Programming in college, and some of my programming stuff has to be done on the PC. Have a good day!

Crapple have 5% of the global home computer market - why is that you think?
Because macs are crap, i've been using both for 10+ years, the mac is, always has been and always will be an overpriced, underperforming unreliable chunk of garbage. The only thing crapple has ever done right was buying a chunk of Adobe, if they hadn't done that and got into the reprographics industry they would have long since been history.
As for little sweary boy bleating about unix, what a joke, every time a new version of OSX appears more software stops working or acting screwy, or even better some is still running on OS9 so you have a unix shell with a GUI slapped over it running a crappy OS that emulates an earlier version of the same crappy OS - yeah thats bound to be reliable.
Viruses, hmmm the pc has more viruses does it? why then at work where im forced to use a mac does my antivirus software tell me that its checking for 160,000+ viruses?
Crapple have always been playing catchup to the PC, and it always will. What i find particularly amusing is how crapple have always made hysterical claims that their machines have been faster than those Intel based PCs, how funny now then that they've now been saying that the new Intel based Macs are the same as the old ones - only up to 5 times faster - oh so they were lying all that time before then? wow who'd have thought it eh?
Only people you'll get bigging up the crapintosh are the mugs who've paid over the odds for a crap machine because they 'thought different' it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know how dumb they know they've been but will make outrageous claims to try and hide their dumbness.

A year ago I'd never used a Mac, but now I use one for most of my day-to-day computing needs and hardly touch my PC. The Mac is faster than an equivalently specified Windows XP PC at starting up, going into and out of sleep and hibernate, hardly needs software updates or restarting, and crucially, doesn't get slower over time.
As a hobbyist web designer and developer, the fact that I've got Apache ready to run with PHP, Perl, Ruby and more, and C, Java and other compilers to hand is great, and I can have all the Unix fun and learning experience I want while still using a beautiful GUI.

well, I loved my PC, used one for years. Happened to walk into a Mac store...played on one for a while...and walked out with one. Now, when I get on my PC back at my folks house it is useable...but not enjoyable. I ENJOY using my MAC. Plus, everyone keeps saying that you can't use Win XP and all the Office programs, but that's totally not true, I have both on my MAC.....and you can't do that with a PC. Also...on a totally shallow aspect..they just look cooler too! Haha. It does depend what you need to do. If all you want to do is write papers for college...heck, get a PC. But if you want something that is going to last you a long time, easier to update...get a MAC, they are more expensive, but I feel that all of my money was very well spent. But you know what...everyone has opinions...I was a dell girl...now totally in love with MAC. Been there done that with PC's...moved on to MACs...so call me a laptop h***

I have used both extensively, and as time goes on, I lean more and more toward Mac. One reason is the fact that they almost never crash. Another is that many common tasks that you would do on your computer require fewer clicks on a Mac than on a PC. One reason that I still have a PC is because I own a lot of expensive software that I don't want to have to repurchase for Mac. Mac has addressed this in there newer computers, by making it possible to run Windows on a Mac.
A lot of this depends on what you are trying to do, and how much it will be necessary to collaborate with other computer users. (PC is still the majority)
In my opinion, Macs when compared with PC's are just plain cool.

Depends on your personal needs. overall a MAC cost more than a PC, but MAC has pretty aswome software that PC dosnt', but then agian, the cost of the MAC is wack, A PC is better especially the office products, MAC'S word and excel software is the worst you can have.

both have their pros and cons
80% of all users have a pc
so ,it is definitely more popular
the great thing about a mac is that you can run mac os x
and win xp
cannot do so on a pc
but ,a mac has very selected software
there is a lot more software for a pc
