Have 2000 Mercury Villager. It runs fine except when it rains . Wont run when it rains. Dealer said nothing Wrong any Ideas??

I'm not a hundred percent sure about this because a lot of models are different.Some autos still have a Rotor cap what used to be called a Distributor cap sometimes they crack from the engine heat and allow moisture to seep thru.You can also try adding stabule to your gas tank,this helps get rid of any excess moisture.

Maybe water inside the distributor cap. I was in a car that suddenly stopped during a heavy rain. I wiped inside the distributor cap with my sock and it started.

Spray the inside of your distributor with electrical contact cleaner

take a look at the sides of the coil - whitish or gray spots shows where your spark is going out the side of the coil insted of to the plugs.

wire might be getting moisture,,spray the wires on a dry day with wd40,,it will keep the moisture out
