I gave myself. A woman friend needed a ramp built so she could get into her kitchen that she could not get into because she had been injured. She had lost her mobility and her freedom and people had to go over daily and get her food. I built the ramp. She got into her kitchen for the first time in a month. She could not thank me enough. She felt that she got her freedom back.

The best gift I gave this year was a phone call.. My best friend and I have been Instant Messaging and emailing for the better part of a year. We talk every day! We've even web cam'ed (nothing bad) but we've never heard each others voice. He's made several comments over the last few months about wondering what I sound like, so on Christmas Day I called him to wish him a Merry Christmas. I could hear him smile! It was wonderful! His laugh was the best present I could have gotten.

Happy New Year

Strange as it sounds, I got my 6 year old Lincoln Logs as a last minute gift because her sister had more presents so I wanted to make it even. It ended up being her favorite gift! Who knew that an old toy like Lincoln Logs would still hold up today against all those electronic gadgets!

I found this great thing by Epson, it's called a storybook. It's software, a picture book and sheets of glossy photo paper. The software has templates that you can upload your vacation photos to (some pages have two or three photos, in "frames", you can also put captions), then you print out the pages and stick them in the picture book, it looks very professional. When I took the pictures of my cruise over to show my friends, they really liked it, which was good because a blank Epson "storyteller" book, for them to make a photobook out of, was their present!

I gave my mom her favorite movie, Seems Like Old Times, on DVD. It is a hilarious movie with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. She couldn't believe it was on DVD and that I had remembered after all these years how much she loves it.

Hubbind loves the movie "Dave", so I got him a copy for Christmas, along with a copy of "My Fellow Americans". He immediately threw them into the DVD player one after the other.

My sister is a big fan of the comic "Zits", so when she saw that I had gotten her collection #11 (Are We Out of the Driveway Yet?), the look on her face was priceless.
