I was told by the provider that something could be interfering with the signal and I could get something to make it stronger but I am unsure what they mean by this.

I thought My 2 wire dsl modem was a wireless modem and the other computer should pick it up. So if I just get a booster it should help?

Yep, you probably just need a booster (assuming you do have a wireless router in addition to your DSL modem). Many wireless routers are actually pretty weak signal-wise. I have one in my office, a Buffalo Air Station Turbo G "High Power" that only reaches about fifty feet. It's pathetic. My Belkin Pre-N wireless router at home broadcasts up to 900 feet. Just depends on your equipment and the structure of the building. What are the walls made of? Are there heavy appliances between the router and the computer? That sort of thing.
One thing to consider though is that you can buy a new long-range wireless router for the price of a booster. Go to Amazon.com and search for a "wireless router". They have a bunch to choose from.
It's not unusual though so don't throw in the towel.

Well, you really need something to TRANSMIT the signal - like a DSL wireless router. Then the wireless computer can get the signal from that, and the other computer can either plug in directly or you could get a second wireless card for it too.

If it is only in the next room, it probably is not actually a signal strength issue.

i'm truly wondered. You question says "with out on the spot" yet your remark then says "with out wires." that is one way or the different. both you purchase a on the spot router to cover your finished residing house or you bodily connect each and each computing gadget with an ethernet cord to a stressed out router.
