The question is to open up a possible law that would able the mothers and fathers who act on the sex offender that vicitmized their children. should it be legal should the punishment be more serious. In 12 years of correctional experience i see more petifiles go home rather than the drunk driver or the petty drug dealer. This is 100% factual and disturbing i have talked with these convicts and most will tell you that they have a problem and will do it again even though they get a parole.

My wife works in criminal law and the problem is that the penalties are not strong enough to deter serious criminals from commiting crimes. Violent crimes, such as brutal sex, violent assaults and murder should be punishable by death... yes I believe in the death penalty. Here in Canada, we had Bernardo who raped two young girls for two weeks before killing them and he has a royal suite in some penitentiary, and he will eventually be let loose in the public again. Like, what is that? I know what you're saying... I would hunt them down and make them suffer their worst nightmare, if it was my child or even my family

Wow, what an interesting question. Very thought provoking (more so then most of the posted questions on here). To answer your question I would be very very tempted as would my husband to do something evil to the person responsible BUT we would probably channel our energy into changing the laws, etc. so that others are helped as well in the end. Killing or castratrating 1 man is only going to get 1 person. Also, we would probably get into trouble with the law as well and then not a whole lot was accomlished to Prevent it from happening again by other pedaphiles to other innocent child victims.

I believe that if a mother and father that had to deal with such an issue regarding their child, that the punishment (if any) should be very minimal. I know that its wrong to take the law in your hands, but in a case where my child was molested and the pedophile is released on probation, I honestly don't know how I will act. Those people are very sick and like you said, will continue committing such acts. Pedophiles should be banned from society and forced to live amongst each other. That way they can no longer destroy innocent children's lives.

No one should take the law into their own hands, We would be no better off, the children who have been hurt need good people beside them guiding them forward, helping them understand the realities of the human race and using the law to the max, at least the children will have a better life with people like you showing them a better way.(there is no room for hate or vengeance) these words or actions hurt. Make them feel safe, and always set a good example.

It would be nice to be able to dish out some vigilante justice, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes people are falsely accused, people in custody battles often get accused, kids who want to get even with a teacher have made these accusations. The law should not protect people who think they are doing the right thing by killing the accused.
On the other hand if I found out that someone had be inappropriate with one of my kids I would get medieval on them, I would hope for sympathy from a jury of my peers but I would not expect protection from the law.

Oh no, I would never take the law into my own hands. And if you believe that I have a bridge for sale.

One more thing, don't waste your time trying someone who has if I'm on the jury. As they say in Texas, "Some victims just needed killing". IMO, pedophiles and 2nd time drunk drivers can both receive the same sentence; 15 minutes.

In the Gas Chamber.

No. Because our children need their parents to help them through such a terrible assault on their soul and body. We can not be there for them if we are behind bars, while the perpetrator is loose. There needs to be another way. We need to keep pushing the justice system that these people need to be locked up and kept away from children at any cost. Judges who let these people walk away need to be sent a message that they will lose their position if they treat these criminals lightly. Also, judges that repeatedly let these pedophiles off should be looked at as dangerous individuals as well. They may be abusers themselves.

My first thought would be to want to Kill the person but than what good would i be for my children if i was in prison so i would have to leave it up to someone else. Thanks for including the facts that you have seen, As a victim myself i get tired of hearing about how they can be treated and that they will change after prison time ,I knew in my heart different .

sometimes i feel that the crime is so awful that the person should have to be punished by the same crime they commited to these children or to whoever, taking the law into your own hands leaves the children alone, i guess, sometimes yes.

Hell yes I would def. take the law into my own hands, because I would kill the sick f***. I don't even think the max. penalty for that is enough. They should be a** raped to death with a sword. As a parent, if someone did this to my own child I would kill them.
