Being gay is NOT a choice. The only thing you can choose is whether to lie about it (to yourself, first of all, but to other people too). If you have been blessed with being gay, love yourself, accept yourself, and do your best NEVER to hurt anyone in word or deed because he or she is LGBTQ. But absolutely FIRST OF ALL, do not hurt yourself for being gay. Believe me, the LGBTQ people of the world know a lot more about love and hate than any other people in the world. That does not make you an expert over night. But when you are above 30 or 35 years old, you will begin to understand what I mean. Best of luck.

If I wanted to live my life acting like a heterosexual to please YOU, yeah I probably could. Not happily, but it's doable (for awhile anyway). That said, I'm gay, and I always will be gay, and I'd still be gay if I did that.
Here's the thing: my life doesn't revolve around pleasing YOUR arbitrary sense of morality. I have yet to hear of anyone being harmed by my sexuality. In a pluralistic society, it takes more to make laws than "Because my god says so". So, why don't you focus on the beam in your eye for awhile, eh?

I'm a gay man and have been askes this question by my family when I came out. This is how I explained to them. I did NOT choose to be gay. Why would I choose a lifestyle that would cause people to discriminate against me, beat me or even kill me. Its not something I chose, but I am and proud to be and NOTHING will change me!

I believe that a person's sexual orientation is beyond their control. Whether or not we choose to explore those desires is up to us (our choice). How many hetero christians would give up their husbands and wives (and sex) if a passage was found in the bible condemning all sexual behavior (gay or straight)? I think it is irrational to expect gay people to live celibate lives just because you (or some christians) says it's wrong. Why do so many people want to judge? (hey...that's a sin!)

Homosexuality comes from sexual sin. When uncle bob molested little Jimmy and no one prayed about it a demonic spirit is given permission to invade that family, it also happens when adultery has been committed. These spirits can enter in at birth that's why some kids are like that from childhood and feel as if they were born that way. Sexual sin has grave consequences and these demonic spirits are very powerful and are very difficult to caste out, 95% of the time they cant be because of people not willing to accept God's word. (My People parish for lack of Knowledge). During today's times being gay is cool, people laugh and cheer at the sight of two women making out.(Madonna and Britney). For some it isn't a demonic spirit but a choice. Many of you have witnessed females in clubs making out, they have never felt they were born that way. There are girls I know that have children with guys and the next yr. they have cut there hair off and claim they are gay. Never felt they were born that way like others do but simply a choice.

Yes, being gay is out of your hands. I know a few gay people. I knew them from kindergarten, and found them very different from their peers of the same sex. Their behaviour and how they respond to the same sex is different than someone who is not gay/lesbian. My friends son, I knew from a baby, and since he was 6, I knew he was not like other boys, even his parents think he is different. From my experience, I know he is gay, he is 16 now and still has no interest in girls, only as friends. All his friends are females and he has never interacted with boys, he finds them odd and rowdy.

Sexuallity is caused by certain chemicals in the brain. It cannot be changed by mere force of will. While sexuallity can be strengthened by environmental factors, the basic inclination is not changeable.

I did not ask to be bisexual. But I am and I'm proud. If I could make a choice to be any sexuality, I would still be bisexual. Did you chose to be straight? No, just like anyone else, you are what you are and you can't do anything about it.
