He was an exchange student in the U.S. and I know the name of the town where he lived, and his first and last name, but I don't know how to search for him.

You can try searching on one of these sites (if the link from the other answerer didnt work):
http://person.eniro.dk/
(write his name in the box "Navn" and the town in the box "By")
http://www.krak.dk/Person.aspx
(name in first box, town in second)
Or you might try with just the name, since its very likely he's moved away. Or try with the last name and the town to perhaps try and find his parents.
As the other answerer said, beware if he has one of the 3 special Danish letters in his name, as he actually does in the town. This can make the search a little tricky for you. If it's completely impossible, you can email me if you like, and I'll do the search for you.
Good luck in finding your friend.

You may be able to find him on LinkedIn or the school's alumni page.

If he still lives in Løgstrup, go to www.degulesider.dk. Under "hvem/hvad" you type his name, under "hvor" type "8831", which is the postal code for Løgstrup. Click "Søg".

You could also try his last name only, if it is rare. His parents may still live in Løgstrup, even if he is not. Be aware that you probably need to use æ, ø, å, if his name contains either of those characters (they are often translated into ae, oe or o, or aa in English).

Good luck!
