You're confusing supply-and-demand with morality.
People get paid what other people are willing to pay them.
If you really want to know why athletes, movie stars, and moderately talented recording "artists" make so much money, your quarrel is with the public that is willing to shell out big money for what they have to offer but who won't pay a few extra bucks in taxes to give teachers, cops and firefighters higher salaries.
Think about it. Plenty of people spend hundreds of dollars annually on DVDs of their fave movies (thereby enriching the stars who appear in them) but scream bloody murder if their taxes go up by a hundred or so dollars in a year.
There are the people's priorities, laid out in plain view.

Some athletes are allowed to do anything they want growing up. As long as they perform on the field they are not blamed or held accountable for what they do off the field. Why would anyone care about the law if they don't have to follow it. Eventually these athletes run into police or other people that don't believe in special treatment. Notice I said some athletes and not all athletes. There are plenty of athletes that have morals and understand and abide by the laws. I am not excusing anyone. I am just saying if we make it easier for people to break laws and cover up for them when they do, we aren't helping any.

Well, how do you justify owners of big corporations making millions off the hard laber of the working man, who is making just enough to get by? Success is not about what you're doing for society, it's about how successful you are in the line of work you do.

If life was fair, people who played games for a living would get minimum wage, and people like firefighters would be making the millions of bucks a year. And, politicians would be a job for people who have committed heinous crimes.

They're talented and famous. When you have both that means big business. Top companies would get them to endorse their product and their team affiliation would not let go so they give more.

I totally agree with you there...it's freakin' unreal. Teachers are responsible for practically raising our kids and they make squat.
