I just got a Nintendo Wii. I also have SBC DSL. I have a Siemens 5100 speedstream modem and a linksys broadband B router (BEFW11S4). The router is connected to my Siemens 5100 speedstream modem provided to me years ago by AT&T (formerly SBC, formerly Yahoo) DSL. When I connect my laptop to my network, I have to open SBC DSL connection manager and log on. According to AT&T, there is no way around using connection manager. Anyway, I just got the Wii. It recognizes my SSID. I entered my WEP password but it fails to connect to the internet. I downloaded the latest firmware and changed the broadcast channel to 11. I tried to manually put in the ISP address, DNS address and other information. None of it works. Can someone please help?

Thanks

Is it the ss5100 a or b? A has 4 lights in the front of the modem and the B has 5 lights. The 5100a has to have a manual connection so there is no way around it But the B has a GUI connection with the b you can set the connection and plug in the WII but with the A it is not possible The best modem from SBC is ss4100 and again thanks for choosing AT&T internet services were we do value ur buisness lol

Have you tried going into the linksys router and setting it up for PPPOE connection and putting in your username and password? If your modem is capable for always on operation then the router should connect all your computers and devices to the internet without any interaction from you.

Since the Wii sees the router everything is working on your side, just need to work on the ISP connection side. Also make sure your routers firewall will allow your game connection.

first of all, i'm hoping by utilising prompt your no longer speaking approximately like satilite cyber web, 2nd, prompt is a broadband connection, the two dsl or cable (or others yet i wont get into that) that's in simple terms emitted nonetheless the air to be won by utilising a working laptop or pc what takes place is a the ISP technician contraptions up a modem. then take the rj45 cable and plug it right into a prompt router. what this does is takes the internet connection and fairly of transforming into it run by way of twine, it emits a relentless prompt sign that a prompt card alternatives up consequently recieving prompt cyber web now making it prompt heavily isn't fairly as speedy as a under pressure out in broadband connection yet its somewhat close. the greater out from the prompt router you go, the weaker the sign and the slower the internet or community connection a prompt connection is solid in case you progression around your homestead with a working laptop or pc or such or re set up alot as you do no longer could desire to debris with yet another cable there isnt lots of a distinction in velocity between and under pressure out and prompt connection in the journey that your pc in all fairness close to to the router, identity say with in 25-30ft counting on MANY variables. in case you have greater questions simply by fact the technician who is composed of set up the DSL approximately it he enable you to recognize and im beneficial clarify it in greater uncomplicated concerns
