Biologically, evolutionarily, and even intellectually, we are virtually identical to animals.

What makes us different and unique is our sentience.

Humans know the difference between right and wrong and can making discissions, animals don't.
Animals live by instinct and survival skills, humans don't.

Animals don't know right from wrong, even though a person can train an animal not to do a certain thing and a few tricks maybe, but they still have no clue as to why do what we tell them to do (I know that can be debatable). Humans evaluate different things before making a decission and make goals for the future. Animals don't evaluate they go by instinct as to the nature of their setting at that particular time as to what to do, and they don't set goals for the future either and thats another example of instinct and survival.
