Hmmm... couldn't find much, but here are a couple ideas. I didn't mention the MOA event since that's even more family oriented than these.
New Year's Eve Fireworks: Over the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. 8:30 p.m. Free.
The Depot Skating Rink: Indoor ice skating. 10 a.m.-1 a.m. $5-$7. Skate rental, $6. The Depot
Winter Wonderland at Rice Park in downtown St. Paul.
New Year's Eve Candlelight Walk at Fort Snelling.

Found one more: You could go to the Varsity Theater for the Mark Mallman/POS/White Light Riot show. (7pm, 18+) - Found that on the Radio K site.
