You can never be happy until you truelly accept and love yourself. That is so hard to do but it can be done. You may have small pieces of happiness from instant gratification or small things but if you really are secure and love yourself, that happiness is eternal and no one can take it away.

I don't think that there are rules for getting happiness because it has different meanings for different people; it could be a compliment word, a smile on a child face, a moment with the person that you love the most in this world, or an accomplishment.

High self esteem, being happy with what you have instead of always wanting things you don't have and never will. Being surrounded by people you love and who love you and doing something that you enjoy. taking life slowly and savoring every moment. also don't let other people bug you and ruin your day "go with the flow."
