motivate him to live even a seconds like a year, try to never allow tear in his/her eyes, every day pray to god to give him a painless death, make only true promises to him.

This is a tough question. Dying people may need a lot of love and support, or may withdraw entirely and reject people. It also depends upon obligations - is this person a family member? If the person is a close friend, bi-weekly visits should be sufficient, and calling every other day wouldn't be out of place. Offer to help with chores - laundry can be a real hassle for a sick person. Shopping for food is another good way to help. You'll think of others.

Listen to what they say and let them talk about whatever it is they wish to express. Don't turn away when they talk about dying but empathize with them. Comfort them when you can.
