Aloha from Down Unda!
The natural beauty of Hawa!! (Waikiki, Oahu) is very expensive and unique [we lived there 23 yrs], the hustle-bustle of NYC is gritty & exciting [we've vacationed there several times]but, yep, Las Vegas IS the best place! It's our 5th trip next month [for the entire month of February]. There are exceptionally reasonable shopping opportunites for miles & miles, besides the fabulous hotels, casinos, themeparks & marvelous restaurants. There really is no comparison anywhere else on the planet! You just can't help having fun! Viva Las Vegas [31 days & counting]

I don't live far from Vegas. And that may be why my opinion s as follows: Vegas is a filthy money sucking human ant farm, with a climate competing with Hades.

It is fun the first few times, but after traveling a bit, I have found there are so many better places to visit. If you want to fly to the middle of the desert and throw money to the wind why not at least go see the grand canyon or something else?

I would suggest going to a travel agent, not to necessarily to book your trip, but to get some ideas. they would know where would or would not have all of the accommodations you need.

Good luck and I hope you have a great trip!

Well first Vegas is not a state - simply a city in Nevada. Vegas has casinos and casinos and you can see some pretty hotels. But that's about it. If you just want warm weather (in the summer) and just want to lie by a pool I guess so.

Otherwise as a state I would say CA is the best since you can see Disneyland, Hollywood and Universal. You can visit San Francisco and the wine country. You can see Hearst castle. But this is a lot of travel and you would need to spend at least 2-3 weeks for all of that.

Washington DC is also great, cause in one small area you get a lot of American history.

And then of course New York is amazing since again in a small, easy to travel area you get some very well known locations to travel to.

Depends on the holiday. Vegas can get a little crazy at times. I'm a little partial to San Diego... being from there, but Vegas is definitely a great vacation spot.

New Orleans! Great city, great people, great food. You can stay a week there then go to Gulf Shores in Alabama (about 3 hours away)for another week for a bit of the beach. It will cost you a fair bit for the flights but accomodation and general living costs with the exchange rate are so good at the moment that it works out well.

Yes. If youre in vegas cross the border and go to california.
If you havent forget the children within you then go to florida and Orlando. I say that Las Vegas is Orlando for adult and the other way around. Johan

If you want to see the Pacific ocean, HWY 1 from So Cal to San Fransisco is the ticket. Start in Newport Beach and do the nightlife there and in Los Angeles. So cal women are just georgeous. Otherwise, Vegas rules.

It just depends.

If you want world class restaurants, great nightclubs, Huge Casinos, Expensive Spas, Quality live shows then Vegas can't be beat.

If you want a quieter, relaxing vacation or water or kid-friendly or historical, there are much better places to go.

lf you are a person who prefers a lively environment then Vegas is just for you. Others who prefer to do activities in the snow can go to Colorado and those crazy about shopping can go to LA. New York for those wanting to catch theater shows.
