Like the others have said.. you will know when they pop...unless they are too small to feel. I have them burst frequently... it is very painful and at times debilitating. Surgery is NOT always an answer however due to the fact that scar tissue can develop and actually harm you more by blocking your fallopian tubes and causing infertility. Unless your cysts are abnormal or the doctors tell you its the only way I would try to avoid surgery.Birth control pills are the best answer for ovarian cysts. Ask your doctor about which ones would benefit you the best. When they do burst, pain meds and heating pads or a hot bath will help aid in the pain and discomfort.

I had ovary cysts and some girlfriends had them too. I don't know what your doctor is talking about but mine popped entirely painless and I never heard of anything else. This is actually why you should have another ultrasound in a few weeks -most likely you would not have noticed the popping and they are gone! I actually travelled in a rush from Singapore to Switzerland to have a nasty cyst removed - and voila! when I arrived the cyst was not to be found anymore on the ultrasound.
The only painful thing about ovary cysts is if they are still there and bleed into the ovarian tube. The popping is a piece of cake and often stays unnoticed. Maybe a second opinion? Take care!

You will absolutely know if you have a cyst that bursts. It hurts if it happens and there is no mistaking that something is wrong. My husband called an ambulance and they rushed me to the ER after I collapsed on the floor because of the pain. I was already scheduled for surgery the following week to have them removed so it was pretty easy for the doctor to diagnose what was wrong. After he told me what it was he gave me a shot of a very strong pain killer and I was good to go after that. Good luck and I hope that this doesn't happen to you and you are fine! :)

Women get cysts every month on their ovaries, they usually come and go without issue (to include pain). I had a cyst that grew VERY large and required surgical intervention. I was in massive, massive pain and that's how it was discovered.
Please get an ultrasound (internal) if you are in pain and get them taken care of quickly. Hormone therapy will help keep cysts under control. Namely, birth control pills will help keep them under control if cysts continue to become an issue.
Good luck!!

If they had popped, you'd be in serious pain. They haven't yet. Discuss with your doctor your options. You could always have the cysts removed.

You'd know if they popped because it hurts when they do. They are more likely to pop/rupture during sexual intercourse or your menstrual cycle.
