Why are the people who shout about civil liberties in America so dead against our helping people of other countries have the right to freedom? Isn't that a bit arrogant to say equal rights to all but only if you are in America? Do we really need to find a nuclear bomb to justify getting Sadaam out of Iraq and helping the good people there to vote in their own leader for the first time in who knows how long?

I see from a couple of answers on here that some people don't read the question before answering. For those who really do read it, thank you very much.

Just to correct you, they voted for the first time in the history of Iraq. Same goes for Afghanistan. People are just blind because all they hear about is the bomb of the day from the media and forget about the things we have accomplished over there. Besides, we aren't fighting against a particular group over there. We aren't taking sides. All the Iraqis are being killed by Iraqis, not Americans. It's just something the Liberals like to get worked up about. It's funny, that even after they hit the World Trade Center there were still anti war protesters. People just aren't as patriotic as they used to be.

You present an interesting point that is only part way accurate. If this is the case you're arguing, then consider all the lesser nations with no real monetary value and valuable lucrative resources that are in much worse situations with no hope of saving themselves that America wholly ignores, presumably b/c we can't profit from it, so it isn't worth the time or effort. As for people who 'oppose freedom' these 'liberties' Americans are afforded are very limited and hugely exaggerated. Americans are allowed to speak freely against the government only if they don't have substantial proof of what they say. When they do, they are eliminated or discredited, or arrested. Our government restricts our access to health care that can cure cancer, leukemia, muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's, and schizophrenia, and then sets up lucrative organizations that collect huge sums of money that individuals in the organizations and in the government can pocket the majority of, while they pretend they are 'searching for, and developing a cure, or more effective treatment'. They develop 'medicines' and tonics that mask the initial symptoms and help the sickness get worse, or start making the body break down and get sicker. The American justice system guarantees that if you have the money or the influence you can get an unfair unjust trial in your favor, and if you don't have the cash and carry, you are guaranteed to an unfair unjust trial that will work against you and ruin you even if you are acquitted. Our legal system is a perfect Swiss cheese bureaucracy that makes it legal to break any law any time, if you can find the loop-hole to exploit it. The American people don't have any power over their government, in fact they fear it, and therefore allow it to do anything, so they don't have to deal with the world.
Americans aren't free, they're just stupid and blind, and easily manipulated. Opinionated fools with no morals and no values, no desire to grow or learn or contented to be posh arrogant cowardly sheep who would rather hide behind their flags and point out the flaws of others than fight on their own merit in their own battles with integrity. The Flag wagging puppet syndrome attributed to the moronic hedonistic godless pompous cowardly American pig, who has the audacity to declare themselves liberators and the stupidity to believe that aimlessly following the biggest brightest red white and blue banner and mindlessly shouting "U-S-A!" to the rest of the world indicates patriotism is perhaps the most sickening display of self-imposed bondage and hollow egotism I've ever had the disgrace and displeasure of laying eyes on.
But folks like you just eat it up. The perfect example of what it means to be American, egotistic self-important, hollow headed, plastic, materialistic, sitting in the safe little benign plastic bubble chastising a world around them they're afraid to touch and too dumb to comprehend who can't even stand together on frivolous issues like your Hollywood idols but are so self-centered and arrogant that you believe the Divided States of Embarrassment will always be around as a world power.

I don't know if you've looked around the world...

but we don't have the resources to free every country from every oppressive dictator...

that would be like 75 percent of Africa, 50 percent of South America, almost all of southeast Asia... and probably some ex-Soviet block countries... and that's just a brief overview... why don't republicans hardly ever talk about those?

freedom is great... but most don't want to ruin our country bringing it to the world...

and the other thing... it doesn't always "take" very well...

if you're an American... do you want your taxes to go up 600 percent and a draft to pay for "freeing the world"?

Just because Americans have freedom, why does that mean they have to bring freedom to everyone else in the world? In my opinion, there are two things wrong with this.

1st-If the US were to try to bring democracy to every non-democratic country in the world, it would bankrupt the country

2nd-Not all people want democracy. Just because it may be the best thing for you does not mean it is the best thing for everyone.

Because some of us feel that using our military and resources to endlessly occupy a nation which posed no threat to us--is a grave miscalculation that will haunt us forever.

And as such, the government in Iraq is a joke.

Americans oppose freedom when it isn't profitable, like free speech that could prevent a profitable war, etc. I am sure that you are right, other countries must be climbing over each other to get the kind of help that the Americans have given to Iraq.

The President said that he was invading Iraq because it was an "imminent threat" and Saddam had WMD. If he had said we were going there to liberate the Iraqis, no one in Congress would have voted for it. There are plenty of other "unfree" countries we chose not to invade for one one reason or another -- Saudi Arabia, China, Sudan, North Korea, to name just a few. I support everyone's right to freedom, but I don't think we should be sending our troops all other the world to secure other people's freedom. If they want want to fight for it themselves maybe I would support helping them like the French helped us in the American Revolution --

the yank applicants for President oppose freedom for Palestinians through Israeli lobby in DC. A lobby little doubt paid for by using distinctive the billions of greenbacks in economic help given to Israel each and every 365 days by using the U. S. government. maximum individuals take the region that Israel is justified of their scientific care of the Palestinians. maximum sense that the land could be Israel's through concept God stated it replaced into Israels land interior the Bible. Many individuals view Palestinians as terrorists who opt to interrupt the rustic of Israel and reclaim each and every of the land as their own through Palestinian assaults on Israel. Many even have faith that Palestinians have not have been given any valid declare to any of the land when you consider that they weren't an formally known u . s . a . in spite of living on the land for hundreds if not hundreds of years. Many are blind to the government of Israels targets with reference to the Palestinian human beings. Many are blind to the undesirable movements Israel has taken against the Palestinians for the duration of the years and could deny even irrefutable info of those movements as lies by using the liberal media through fact they have faith that liberals hate the Jewish human beings and choose the rustic long previous. the U. S. government does not incredibly choose peace interior the middle East. conflict in that area is financially constructive to the companies who administration our government and could proceed to be that way until the final drop of oil is sucked from the earth there. After that happens the U. S. won't care one bit what happens to the middle East, alongside with Israel. The Palestinian human beings have carried out not something incorrect to the human beings of the U. S.. Their purely crime is being an opponent of Israel. The Palestinian each and every person is caught between a rock and a stressful place, they'd't bear in mind to the needs of Israel and nonetheless evaluate themselves a unfastened human beings and that they'd't shop combating Israel as they at present are.

Not all Americans oppose freedom. I have been in the area several times. Saddam was an evil, nasty, dictator. We were at one time selling him food for oil because he stated that his country was starving...He sold the food for weapons! He tortured his own countrymen. What does this mean to you since it wasn't in the US? 911!!! Thats what it means, if we do not get rid of those dictators who are in bed with terrorism, we will see it here in our back yard again. As a troop I would rather fight it out in their back yard rather than mine!
