There was a true story film on Sky last night based on a 15 yr old girl in the US in Oklahoma, who murdered a soldier in an oil field whilst high on drugs, and egged on by her pimp/boyfriend. She was given the death sentence (gas), even though it was proved she did have an abused childhood abandoned by her mother and used by this pimp for prostitution. she was failed by everyone, and simply wanted to be loved. This soldier pretended to love her and abandoned her too. It was made in 1991 i think, but i cannot find nothing at all about the true case story. have you seen it, and do you know what her fate was??

"the movie was loosely based on Attina Cannady in MS. She killed Ronald Wojcik in Harrison County in June 3, 1982. She was not executed, as her sentence was communited in 1984. She is inmate 42451 in Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl, MS. She has 2 25 year sentences and 1 life sentence."

I found that on the IMDB message boards under the movie. You can use the link below to read the entire thread (and others) but you'll have to sign up first (the non-pro membership is free and can gain you access to them)

I searched attina's name and still did not bring up anything

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think you are talking about "Too Young To Die" starring Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis. If I remember correctly The movie was loosely based on Attina Cannady (or cannaday) in MS. She killed Ronald Wojcik in Harrison County in June 3, 1982. She was not executed, as her sentence was reversed in 1984.She is inmate 42451 in Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl, MS. She has 2 25 year sentences and 1 life sentence. I found more on the subject at a forum a few years back.

I hope this info and the links help...

Although set in Oklahoma, the film is loosely based on Attina Marie Cannaday, who along with David Gray, killed Ronald Wojcik, with a knife, in Harrison County, Mississippi on June 3, 1982.

Cannaday (born September 8, 1965) was charged with robbery, kidnapping, and homicide. At the time of her trial, she was a sixteen year old divorcee, who had married at thirteen and divorced at fourteen. She was convicted in Harrison County Circuit Court of the kidnap and murder of U. S. Air Force Sergeant Ronald Wojcik and the jury sentenced her to death by lethal injection. The guilty verdict was upheld, but the sentence was reversed in 1984, Cannaday v. State, 455 So.2d 713, 720 (Miss. 1984), and she was resentenced to one life sentence and two 25-year sentences at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (inmate number 42451). She was released on parole on March 9, 2008.

Her co-defendant, David Randolph Gray (born May 29, 1954) was charged with aggravated assault, grand larceny, and homicide. He, too, was sentenced to death by lethal injection. His sentence was reversed in May 1987, by the U. S. Supreme Court, in Gray v. Mississippi, 481 U.S. 648, on the basis "a qualified juror was excluded from his trial". He is currently serving a life sentence in Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (inmate number 01440).[1][2][3][4]

Yeah she was executed. They made a move about it. Juliette Lewis and Brad Pitt starred in it.

At the beginning of the movie, Amanda is being arrested for murder. Through flashbacks we learn of the circumstances, and the movie goes back and forth between the present and the past. Amanda tells her lawyer she didn't do it, but she is not very helpful in keeping herself out of prison--or possibly death row.

Amanda was only 14 when her stepfather asked her to do something she didn't want to do, and when her mother blamed her, she soon felt her only option was to run away. Once she ended up broke and alone in another town, Billy came to her rescue with a job no 14-year-old should have. Soon Amanda needed rescuing again, and Mark, divorced with children, proved to be her knight in shining armor. But things did not improve for Amanda, and we know something terrible eventually happened.
