No Name and the Barking Crab, as well as the Union Oyster House and Anthony's Pier 4 are all good. Legal Seafood is good - and they have fresh, consistently decent seafood (great clam chowder) BUT they are overrated and overpriced.

There really isn't anything too cheap. You may want to do the Legal Seafood restaurants. They also have a new "test kitchen" called LTK Bar and Kitchen that is pretty high tech.

I've included the website for LTK but also for the Phantom Gourmet. They have a restaurant search for seafood and other dining pleasures.

I agree with, rhythm.nb... You should go to a good Seafood Restaurant in Boston. either the Union Oyster house near Hay Market or go to Legal Sea foods you Won't be Disappointed!

I don't know if it's still open.. but the Barking Crab used to be pretty inexpensive. It's VERY informal. Too bad you are looking for cheap because Legal Seafoods is fabulous.. along with Atlantic Seafood Company on Boylston St...

The Barking Crab is still open. FYI- a couple years ago they were cited for using dirty water in the lobster tanks. That being said it's an ok place, great view of Boston's "skyline" and it is quite informal.

Or, just get some fish and chips at any decent bar.

Dolphin Seafood, Mass Ave, Cambridge. Been going there for years. Absolutely NO ambiance. Jeans and flip flops. But always fresh fish and cheap.

If you don't mind going a little out of the Boston city limits, Tony's and The Clam Box on Quincy Shore Drive, across from Wollaston Beach in Quincy, are both excellent. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait for spring to eat there, because they are closed for the season.

Personally, I don't think anything with the words 'cheap' and 'seafood' in the same sentence is a good idea.

The best and most interesting (and quite famous) is the NoName, right on the Fish Pier.

I'd say Anthony's Pier Four, or No Name. . .Both are good, and reasonabley priced. . .Legal Seafoods is good, but pretty expensive.
