For an Earth sign, one easy way to remember which is best:
Earth builds on Earth - good combination
Water nourishes Earth - also good
Air displaces Earth - Air would drive you crazy
Earth extinguishes Fire - you would smother them

Put it this way you Taurus people are the hardest people in life to get along with. Very stubborn, selfish and only care about yourselfs. So best to stay by yourself.
