any book that discusses principals of electricity
such as ohms law and proper grounding techniques.
if you have no knowledge or experience.. then read as many books as you have to in order to gain a very strong understanding of electricity. before you attempt any hands on.
or else risk serious injury and possible death.. not to mention fire.

The Home Depot Do it yourself book is pretty good. Its a hard back and teaches a little about everything plumbing, electrical, etc. The book sells for about $20 and is well worth it... I also understand that "Dare to Repair" is also a good book for electrical repairs and the such. Check the links below.

there is a book called uglys reference it has a lot of basic principles used by tradesmen .and it is pocket size .electrical warehouses have them
