What on Earth makes you believe that the upgrade to SP2 will "damage your files?" Tens of MILLIONS of successful upgrades to SP2 have been done. Sigh.

Check out Firefox 2.0 if want an alternative browser. In the opinion of many, me included, it's a better browser than IE7 anyway -- and it's free.

The upgrade does this: The files shared by two programs are copied and split so that both programs run seperately. That's the only difference between XP and the other operating systems. IE7 is good and stable, its out of the beta stage now, works good.

I would recommend using both : IE7 & Firefox because some websites dont work with firefox including windows update site so i recommend using firefox for those primary things done on the web and IE7 .... OF COURSE! for IE only websites

I use Firefox. It's faster than IE 7.

And, upgrading to Service Pack 2 will not harm your computer. It's actually best for it and it's safer/more secure than SP 1.

Many people think that IE is the best. Firefox is the best. Fx is MUCH more secure, plus you can get all of the features of IE7 in Fx2.0, which you can get for any recent OS. (95 and later, I believe.) Try it. You'll like it.

The best browser depends on who you ask. I prefer IE7. I havn't had any trouble upgrading.

DEFINITELY Mozilla Firefox. Free download from www.getfirefox.com - they came up with tabbed browsing first, so now IE copies them. It is much more secure than IE and it has millions of extensions you can downloads for free to customise it, like a Weather toolbar or a program that shows you the thumnail of a website before opening it!

well, there are wany people that have had their fair share of problems with IE7 so if you want you can try Firefox without uninstalling Explorer and see how you like it.

Just download and use mozilla firefox. It doesn't work for music videos on yahoo though, but you can still keep the older version of IE, that's what I do.
