A neighbor from down the road died over the holidays and the police said he had no next of kin, no friends, no one. I thought this was incredibly sad that no one except me will miss him. But I'll remember him as grouchy and irritable because that's the way he was whenever I saw him or said hello.

I also thought it's a good inspiration to have friends and make a mark on the world.

Probably not. I mean, I know that some people like my parents and my husband would, but when I sat down to think about it I asked myself, "Why would they?"

I completely understand how you feel! i had a cat that lived to be 20! she was 3 yrs older than me and was my childhood pet. when she passed i felt the way your feeling now. i felt like i lost one of my best friends (i mean she had been the only one around my whole life other than my parents). I thought a new kitty would help me too, but when i went to go look at them i just cried. it just reminded me how much i missed molly. So i waited a year until i got another cat, and that was enough time for me to grieve and prepare for a new kitty. Im not saying you should wait a year, but you should wait long enough to grieve you beloved cat. If you dont grieve then you might be disappointed with your new kitty when he/she doesnt act or do something that your passed cat did. there will always be kittens to adopt in the future. but again this is not my choice just a suggestion. And i am so sorry for your loss. I know how that can feel. hope i helped some. oh and you are NOT a bad person!!! this is a natural first reaction! dont beat yourself up

Wow that is sad, but he died the way he wanted to I guess. You make a choice everyday on how you live your life and how you treat people. If you're good to people and its from the heart, you'll get that same treatment back. If you decide to be mean and bitter towards people, chances are you'll die alone-unless someone feels sorry for you. Like you, I decided long ago to surround myself with positive people who care about me and to be compassionate toward others.

If I died tomorrow, I know that I would be missed by my family and friends and that I've inspired them in different ways to do different things. I've already left my mark.

I'm flying tomorrow so if I die a whole helluva lot of people are gonna miss me! LOL!!

Nah, seriously, if I died no one would remember me or miss me. My casual friends would forget about me eventually. Have got no close friends to miss me, no current girlfriend, no close family.

A few would miss me and those same few would remember me. Hopefully I will have had a positive effect on someone that helped them during my lifetime.

My family, my dog, and my friends would miss me terribly. Anyone who knew me would probably remember me as a quiet person who loved animals, music, baseball, and working as a pet-sitter; someone who loved to write poetry and whose work had been published twice.

I think one or two people would truly miss me. Others would miss a paycheck or other things.

I honestly believe that my family and friends would miss me, but my friends would probably think that I didn't spend enough time with them...

I would hope people would remember me - it would be mostly family though and not because of anything special I've done. Good question. :)
