I have this problem with the way i walk. you see the thing is, is that i am a gurly girl. i dress like one, i talk like one, i am one. but everytime i walk i "mission walk" like my friend says. which means that i walk like i am on a mission. and my mom says i walk like i wanna kick some ones butt. which makes me look like i am a *****
which i dont want. so do you guys have any ideas on how i can train myself to walk like a girly girl. cuz i am sick of doing it! thanxs!!!!

LMAO. first time of my life hearing about the girly girl walk. LMAO i have a friend who has a very fit body and she walks in her very uniquie way. i pointed out to her that she walks as if she's doing the cat walk and all my friends pointed out to her too. when i demonstrated to her, all my friends laughed but i was doing exactly what she was doing. see, sweetie everyone walks in their unique way. i think my friend's walk is very special and even "sexy" to some guys. your walk may seem like a mission walk to you or your mom or your friends. but that's the way god made you so you should accept it. if you try to change the way you walk you might end me tripping yourself or something. or even walking very funny. so just accept the way you are. and just walking girly doesn't make you a girly girl. you already dress like one and talk like one. which makes you one. you don't need a girly girl walk. cuz you know why? that thing don't even exist. so just enjoy your walk and have fun showing it off. it's you. it's your walk. it's what makes you uniquie.

you know i have a friend who walks just like that and i tell her the same thing but i found out thats just how she is and i miss it when she doesn't walk that way so i'll say be yourself but if you really want to walk like a "girly girl"try watching others and don't expect to do it in one day walk slow and in a relaxed manner and put one leg almost directly in front of the other when you are walking with your shoulders relaxed and your arms slightly loose.i hpe that helps,goodluck

i am a therapist and i find gait patterns interesting and if everyone's was the same, i'd be bored. just try to slow down and take smaller steps. watch lots of E!. they have lots of fashion shows and red carpet footage. just pay attention to other people. decrease your arm swing too. some people really swing their arms hard which makes you look like you are 'on a mission'. also wearing high heels forces you to take smaller steps and walk 'girlier'...although i've seem some real elephants in stilettos too...
just slooooow down.

Just slow it down, and it sounds like you probably look straight forward with your head up and a more stern and confident look on your face. No one is saying put your head down or be less confident but some people perceive it as errogance at times. I would just try to be more casual, pay more attention to things around you, not just in front of you, or not just what you're heading for. That's also good advice for life in general.

Okay, listen

put one foot in front of the other when you walk, this makes your hips swing.

That is what you want to do...move the bottom half of your body, not as much the top.

I really like long skirts. My bf prefers the short ones. So my closet is filled w/ 1/2 and 1/2.

Simple

Wear a very tight fitting calf-length skirt (no pleats or slits) and high heels.

They will FORCE you to walk differently (either that or you will fracture your ankles and/or hips!)

watch other people like your friends walking and try to imitate them, also videotape yourself so you can see what you look like when you're walking and fix it. Also watch people on the tv and in movies and try to walk like them
