after that all that is left in terms of proven names is armas and weaver. Whats going to happen. Btw, congrats to the giants for going from a team that had 2 proven name regulars at the start of the free agent signing period in vizquel and winn and now have a full lineup a great starting rotation and will win a weak nl west. Also, who takes the nl wildcard. i got the dodgers cuz of the money they spent despite their lack of power. Thanks.

It doesn't look as bad for the Mets even when they didn't got Zito. With the exception of Glavine and El Duque, Mets pitchers are young, with Maine, Pelfrey, Oliver Perez and they have stock the bullpen with the acquisition of Ambiorix Burgos from Kansas City, Aaron Heilman could go back to the rotation in a emergency in a case any of the other starters go down with an injury and I expect Pedro to come back after the All-Star-Break. Let's take it easy, it's not that bad. After all, if I was Minaya, I wouldn't have offer that kind of money to Zito that he got with the Giants'. I rather trade Lastings Milledge and a minor league pitcher to the Fish trying to get Dontrelle Willis. He is younger and in my opinion much better than Zito. Maybe Zito won the Cy Young award in 2002 or 2003 but if you see his numbers, it had been going down since. So let's not get anxious Met fans', instead of paying $126 million dollars to just one player, now Minaya has to spend more wisely during the rest of the off-season up to the next season's trading deadline. One thing's for sure, everybody in the Mets family wants the team to go all the way next season.

Possibly Mulder...
I feel like the mets should go get Jake Peavy... Im sure ill get yelled at for saying this but I think he is our best option...
Trade options in my mind:
Milledge/Heilman for Haren
or Milledge/Heilman/1 other single A minor leaguer for Peavy.

Hope the Giant fans are happy paying 126 mil, possibly 144 mil at the end of 7 years for a guy who throws 88 mph, won't pitch under a great offense, and only excels when his curveball is spot on...
NL wildcard- Possibly Marlins or Dodgers.

I felt like I was being stabbed in the heart. After all the wishing and hoping, Zito and Suppan are gone. God, I really hope that the Mets sign Mulder. Every other team has signed more players than the Mets. What's goin' on with the Mets?

i dont see the mets signing any pitcher the will eithier work on a pitching in the system or trade one of the marginal players or a decent player like beltran. Clemens will eithier retire or pitch for the astros cuz he lives in houston and he has already said he doesnt wanna move and the astros let him stay home on games he wont pitch. and mulder is not the good of a pitching and is prone to injury....Astros if the sign clemens if not probley the dodgers

George Bush will be wearing a doorag before the Mets get Clemens. Clemens will either play for the Yankees or retire. I don't think the Mets have a shot at Mulder either.

Clemens is out of the question. Their are only 3 possible teams getting him, Astros, Yankees, or Red Sox. As for Mulder i wouldn't be surprised if they went after him, everyone knows what he can do he just has the injury issue surrounding him.

The Mets really don't need anymore pitching, especially not Clemens. They are a team that can win in many different ways, but hopefully Glavine will pitch good for another year, and the younger pitchers will continue to develop

Mulder will NOT be able to play for a month or so after signing w/ who ever. The Mets next best option will be to trade for someone like Haren in Oakland Penny in La. or a Whie Sox player.Just remember, who ever pitches at Shea will most likely do better than most other places. (Pitchers Park)
Its too soon to pick wild card, but it could be Padres, dodgers or Phillies.

OK lets face, if Clemens is going to pitch next season its either red sox, Yankees, rangers or astros. Mulder is recovering from injury so best shot, Mulder.

I'm hoping the Cards can keep Weaver, maybe Mulder. There aren't a lot of pitchers left.
