my nan thinks a neighbour is stealing money from her.
she has all her marbles and would know if she lost 20p, but this man is thought to be taking about £40 - £60 per time once from her purse and once from the fireplace.

obvisously we can't just accuse him of it but does anyone know of a good way to catch him out or a special ink that i can put on the note and leave it to be touched??? and then leaving him with the ink and the proof on his hands???

oh and by the way this guy will be getting a kicking for stealing from an old lady if he is found guilty!!!

good stuff so far, how about making a note of the serial no's on the notes, keeping photographic proof may be a good idea. then if money goes missing confront him and if he has the notes call the police. A daft(?) idea may be to replace the real money with fake notes, i mean wouldn't it be fun to see him getting arrested for pasing fake notes.. Dont get him beaten up, just make sure that when he is caught that all the local people find out.
I wish you the best of luck

Camera if you can afford, if not you can rig up a ps2 cam to video, Diy stores do cams for apx 30 quid you can wire up to vcr's. Lets get this ****, you know times of visit? Ok if cam not possible use timers with recordable devices added on? Difficult this as an outsider, as i can't question ins and outs!"! Hand staining dyes are good provided the perp doesn't know of a few products that can remove it(there are a few) And you gotta prove he got dyed at your nans not somewhere else? This twats getting a beating you gotta have the right man!! You have a moral obligation here to keep me informed here, i detest this kinda crime!! Mail me for more advice should you need it together wel'l get this Barst!! Best a luck to you....LEX

I think a hidden camera (video or web cam) is a great idea. You could also set a trap for him and see if he falls for it. Maybe tell him your nan has a special place she hides alot of money in a purse or something .

ONLY tell him, and put a mouse traps or 2 in the purse(jar) and pour some ink you can buy at a store or writing place and see what happens. He would be in for a surprise of his life lol good luck

OK get a cam....attach it t a screen and watch his every move...hide it somewhere like inside an ornament or in some flowers, you can get very tiny cameras these days, go on line and ask for security cameras...once he's caught on camera he can never deny it...use a plant like leave a 20 on the floor or on the table, make sure the camera is in range...tell your nan not to let him into her home any more...if it didn't go missing before he started coming round, then it's likely to be him, but get evidence first, then call the police...

Hello!
How about setting up a camera in her house? Nothing like video to catch a thief.
Good Luck! :)

I would set up a camera pointing directly where her money is kept then when he comes in switch on. This can be used as evidence. Other than that tell your nan not to let him in house again.

Just have her keep the money in a lock box. And ask the gentleman not to come back, if you are certain he is stealing.Who says you can't accuse him?
