FOR A PUG MY VETS NOT OPEN UNTIL SAT I THINK HES IN PAIN

The good thing about the corneas is that they regenerate quickly. If your pug does have an ulcer, it just may be healed in the morning. Now an infection can cause an ulcer to, so if it's still red and irritated, possibly draining, then you'll need to see a vet. I'm sure he'll give you an opthalmic ointment, which is specifically formulated for the eyes. Don't put anything else in his eyes....especially something like Visine, or a cream or ointment that is not designed for the eyes (it'll say opthalmic). You could have disasterous effects. I hate to reco this, but I would put neosporin antibiotic ointment in his eye to keep it sterile if that happened to my dog under the circumstances you just described. I have been prescribed that for my dogs in the past for eye problems. I am not a vet though. Take any advice you receive here of a medical nature with a grain of salt.

just put some vaseline in your dogs eye and give him/her a little tylenol for children until the vet opens.
