Is that why you are divorcing? "in sickness and health...." sound familiar?? Try a marriage counselor instead.

Why would you want to get divorced because of an illness? Did you speak the vows' 'in sickness and in health?' If the going gets tough, you get going? How would you feel if you were the person that was sick and your spouse wanted to walk out on you? Wouldn't you want their support to help you get you through your illness? You must not really love your spouse.

Most states have "no fault" divorce, meaning that to get a divorce you just have to ask.

In fact, some couples have been known to get a divorce when one is seriously disabled in order to put themselves in a better position for purposes of Social Security or other government benefit programs.

I am sure you legally could......

But if the sole reason you are doing so is because of the illness that kinda makes you a rotten person.

For better or for worse, thru sickness and in health......

You must be the wife, I don't imagine men could be quite so coldhearted.

It sounds to me like YOU are the illness.

I guess you can - I assume no sex is your technical reason. However - what happened for better or worst in your personal vows? I would think the longer you are married the more mature you become and the less likely you would dump your spouse. Think if the rolls were reverse.

Sure you can, but it will look very cruel to do so. You may also be part responsible for their medical bills if they where sick before the divorce is final.

As long as he/she can show up in court and/or sign the final papers, yes. Divorce is all paperwork and attorneys.

Yes, that shouldn't stop you from getting it done. It may cause complications on the other person being able to make it to court or if your lucky you can just get them to sign the papers and it will be done.
