When you get acrylic nails, your regular nails still grow underneath. After about 1-2 weeks, you have a gap at the base of your nail which is new nail growth with no acrylic over it. A "fill" is filling in that space with acrylic.
If you want a design, I would ask for just that, a design, or nail art, or airbrushing.
Have fun!

if you go to a nail shop to get your nails a fill is when you have already had the nails put on and they grow out so there is a gap , they fill in the gap. And if you just want designs say just that .

When you get fake nails applied and then your real nails start to grow, there is an uneven gap between the fake nail and cuticle. The nail technician fills it in with a liquid fast drying plastic and then it is sanded down to the same level as the fake nail. As far as the designs go, it is often referred to as artwork or nail designs.

Fill-ins are when you have gel nails that start to grow out- you get the gap between the cuticle and gel "filled in." Designs on nails are called airbrushing.

'In fills' are where two weeks or so after you have acrylic nails put on, they sand down the acrylic and re apply acrylic gel where the nail has grown out and kinda re polish. Nail designs are nail designs, each salons has different equipments, like nail image etc.

fill ins are what you get when your acrylic nails grow out and you need the spaces between the bottom of them and your cuticles
filled up. i think your designs are called air brushing unless you are referring to something else.
