Well I myself wouldn't take a seat from someone who was on crutches and you would be if you just had the surgery. They need it more then me.

No it doesn't if you had a knee surgery. When I was pregnant I wouldn't take anyones seat. I was nine months pregnant and sitting on the floor in the back of a pick up truck. BIG DEAL! Some pregnant women think that because they are pregnant they are disabled. My sister was a pain in the butt when she was pregnant. Now, Im not saying that some pregnancies are harder than others and I COMPLETELY understand that! But alot of women overdo it also! But if you don't have knee surgery or something like it, then you should offer it up!

No one has to do anything. It is polite to offer a seat to an elderly or pregnant person, but it's not a law. If you have circumstances that make it so you can't offer your seat don't offer it and don't feel bad about it. If you don't have that type of circumstance, but just don't feel like it then don't bother offering and only feel bad about it if you want to. It's a very nice gesture, but not everyone is the type of person to make nice gestures. When I'm pregnant I usually prefer to stand unless I'm totally exhausted. Once I reach that point I'll sit on the ground if there's now where else to sit. That's just life some days.

I would imagine if you had a disability or had recently had surgery or something then it would be fine to keep your seat....however, if you are an otherwise healthy person on a crowded bus and you see an obviously pregnant person it would be kind of you to give it up. Chivalry shouldn't be dead, you know. It doesn't make you an ****** to keep your seat, but it also doesn't make you a very kind individual either.

You don't "have" to do anything, but the question is "should" you?... I guess it depends on the type of person that you are. Of course if you have a problem that hinders your ability to stand, then no, by all means, keep your seat. BUT, as a gentleman who's mom raised him to be courteous and polite, YES, you should get your buttocks up and let the lady sit whether she is pregnant or not!!! sheesh! we need the good ole days back when men were manly. A man would feel shame if he didn't give up his seat to a lady!! regardless of her condition. I am a woman and I would give my seat up to anyone that seemed to need it more than me. But that's just because I have morals and stuff.... so don't mind me any!!!

Have you had knee surgury?
If you haven't then you have no courtesy!

See, it's called common courtesy for a reason - a pregnant woman is bearing an extra weight that is hard on our backs, hips and stomachs......yeah, a seat would be nice, or just a kind jesture of a seat available - but if you've had surgary or have a disbality then no i don't think you're an ******.
If you just can't be bothered to offer your seat because you were there first! then i'd say that's being a bit selfish..

Well, if you are perfectly healthy and refuse to give your warm seat on the train/bus to a pregnant chick, yeah, it does make you an ******.
Easy, huh?

No, I don't think so. I would say, "Sorry, I would give you my seat but I just had knee surgery (or whatever)" Say it loud enough, maybe the other ******* will offer their seat!! :)

I believe it is polite and proper to offer your seat to a woman who is "in the family way." However, if you have just had knee surgery, you shouldn't feel obliged.

Depends. If you are currently disabled and have difficulty standing then no. However, if you are able bodied you should always offer your seat to those who are not so able bodied; elderly, disabled and pregnant.
