Horizontal stripes make your eyes travel from side to side, and this creates the illusion of being wider. Of course, most of the time, if the shirt has an image on the front, like yours, peoples attention will be on the image, not the stripes. Another help is the way the shirt fits you. If its really tight, then the stripes may make you look a little bit wider, but not much. If its looser, then the stripes should have no affect. One good thing about horizontal stripes is that they make your bust look larger. With the top you have, I think you should look wonderful.

Thats what any fashion pro will tell you but I have never noticed it myself. Honestly it just depends on the fit and the true width that you are. If that shirt is a short length with those stripes, it WILL make you look wide and will make your torso seem small. Right now I am wearing a horizontal striped shirt but it is a bit lengthy, covering my butt a bit, it's tight and it stays where it fits. I am confident I dont look wider because of the fit though.

it depends on your size honestly, if the shirt fits you properly and you are not very large then no it wont make you look large. the best rule to follow is go with a print relative to the size of the person... if you were very large then this would be inapproprite because the stripes are small... think about that. and make sure it fits... nothing makes you look fatter than clothes that are way too big or way too small.

They can, but those stripes are quite thin, so don't worry I don't think they will make you look wider at all

sometimes they do, horizontal striped make you look wider as vertical stripes make your torsoe look longer.

thats a cute shirt..but yes they do make u look wider.but if u are thin then they can tend to make u look smaller
