lets say a male cat sees two cats one is large the other is slim
does the average cat have the mentality to not have sex with the fat cat due to the apperance or will the cat not care and have not even know being the animal he is and go after the only cat he is closest to?

I think cats judge eachother by their strut. If they have that sexy walk, then the cat will do them. Other cats look into another cats eyes, and if they feel that 'cat chemistry', then they get together. Cats don't consider weight an issue, they judge a fat cat as having a rich owner who feed him alot and they try to get with the fattest one.

I don't think it has to do with the weight, more then the health of the cat.
Some cats are very picky, I had one Siamese that she would mate with one ugly ally cat, and with no others.
We tried to have her mate with quality cats but with no results.
Another cat I had would mate with anything that came her way.

Cats can be so catty about other cat's figures. They try to beat down the opposition with subtle put downs.
