Do museums display replicas of ancient artifacts to preserve the originals? Some of the busts look like they are made from plaster or some other material. There are even form lines (like from a mold) on the heads of statues, etc. Has anyone heard of something lilke this before?

most sculptures made during the classical Roman period were cheap copies of Greek Sculpture (which most Greek originals are destroyed), and are usually made from stone or marble. However, some museums exhibit the actual art piece during the opening of the show and switch it to a copy for the rest of the exhibition. Usually this happens because the sculpture is on loan from another museum. Another explanation would be that heads (as well as male genitalia) would be broken off statues when new rulers came to power. So the bust you saw might have been pieced back together.

yes to all of those many times the artifact is just to delicate to travel or too valuable to let it go so there is a copy of it shown the first major show of my life was the De Vinci ware machine show at the Spiva Art Museum they were all nice little wooden copies of his drawings of war machine and they all moved like they were designed to do so that was my into into things that were there but not exactly real if you know what I mean when in doubt just as the museum the plaster stuff could easily be real as there are 1000s of then that only ever got to the plaster stage when they were first made.

I assume that they are consistent making up new shows. The genuine accuracy of the creation museum's shows is previous perception. no longer something has accomplished extra to enhance the actuality than the creation museum. And as for Mr. Fish above, i ask your self what vegetation falcons, buzzards, eagles, herons, flamingos, crows, and terns devour. it might look that the standard public of birds devour meat.
