You need a license to drive any car. But you don't need a license to fly a ultra-light plane. So if you have a light car, like a Geo Metro then why should I need a license.? You can operate a Farm Tracker on the highway without a license.

darlonyoder - yea I know alot of people who should drive, but those are the ones that drive without the license. So it's not like having a license keeps bad drivers from driving.

brownsucrose - what does a drivers license have to do with roads? In my state when you register your vehicle you pay the road taxes that maintain the highway. Fees collected on drivers license are not spent on road construction.

I agree why should I have a license? This is a free country, I shouldn't need a license to fish or hunt neither. The only reason I can see why a drivers license would be needed is if you are providing a service to the public. Like taxi driver or bus driver.

When you enjoy your drive everyday to work, ask yourself who is paying for all this work! I have a solution for you, God gave you the gift of 2 feet, put them to good use. This way you will save $$$$ and better for your health. California doesn't charge you for walking. So move here. Keep voting Democratic and this will eventually happen.
