because back about ten/twenty years ago movie people respected the holidays and made more holiday films for the holidays. Now, they probably earn more money for horror flicks than family movies. It's a shame but that's what I think happened.
Good luck to you and happy new year!!

My Christmas wish came true.
I'm actually happy more "horror" movies are coming out, even though most are crap anyway. It's better than the cheesy Christmas movies and most definitely better than those stupid Santa Clause movies.

I blame Scream...it started the whole Horror movie thing up again, and then when Saw and The Grudge did so well....they have flooded the market.

They are cheaply made (relative to high priced star power movies) and most are easy money makers for the studios because they have a core following of people that view them when they come out.
When you tie that into the holidays when everyone has idle time to attend movies.....people go and the studios make money.

Ya know?

That doesn't really make much sense.

You'd think they would come out more during Halloween, or times like that.
