It may be a problem with the ignition, specifically that strange network of coils and bridges for channeling the spark to the plugs on those quad 4 type engines.

It may have jumped timing...? Its just a thought. How about your fluids? Is it overfilled? Need more information. But its a start.. Also, are you out of engine power or is your tranny slipping? Or not downshifting? Maybe the trans is stuck in 3rd gear?

need more info. why did you remove exhaust?, any engine lights on? rough idle, missing, bad fuel economy, etc.
