They need to take care of there own people.half our taxes go to the military. then a portion goes to other country's. the people get very little back for there investment of tax money.. end aid to Israel and Egypt and other country's.we could have a wonderful country with very few homeless. or hungry people.jobs for most everyone. the environment is going to hell, change needs to take place, but it wont till the people get involved. This is a country for and by the people. but most laws do not help the people.mostly its laws that make big buisness bigger. I went to Florida for two weeks. got hit by a van. in the hospital, two months later. my brother called me. and said he went by the home I had. and said it was gone. they had condemned my home and destroyed it because I had a hole in my roof. and didnt get the letter to come to court about it.I didnt get the letter? that was it? and they took my home and all my possessions to the dump. The government should take care of its people. not destroy a persons home cause they didnt get a damn letter. I had someone going by to get my mail. put I quess someone stole my mail.to lose my home is not funny . now I am on disability liveing in a rented room.Greenvile county S.C. my home county did this to me.

Bush actually opposes sending condoms... his well-funded AIDS relief project was an "abstinence-only" seminar in Africa. Good job, buddy.
Anyway there certainly are other solutions than just pumping money into poor nations... we need to use that money to invest in infrastructure to help these people develop their nations. The problem is that, in places of extreme poverty, it's hard to keep armed groups from taking over these projects or the developing nations.
One serious problem that you may not know about is that so-called aide money which on the surface is used to help the poor in foreign nations actually goes to the political or armed opponents of existing heads of state... dictators or elected leaders alike. This only causes violence, which brings development to a halt. We also impose economic sanctions on nations whose leaders we don't like, hoping the people will start a revolution out of sheer starvation. This means more violence, lack of development, and poverty, and when they do overthrow their leaders (again, often elected leaders) we have to send them aide money.

You can't just send them a box of condoms and expect results. They need to be educated as well which takes time, money and patience. Being much older cultures than ourselves it is difficult for them to grasp concepts like birth control. They need to be taught how to grow and harvest their own food. That would be a good start.

We have sent them condoms.
Many African men refuse to use condoms, because they feel it isn't manly.
In some African countries over half of the people are infected by AIDS.
(Now, I got that information from the News Media. Believable? I don't know. Maybe.)

poverty in 3rd world countries isn't as simple as education and over population. look at some of the countries where poverty is rampant... you'll find a corrupt government which won't feed it's people.

They artwork their asses off to get what little they have. human beings artwork difficult too, yet we've lots greater beneficial than those different ppl so some distance as aspects and financially, or extremely each and every thing... If we choose something, it isn't difficult for us to get. we are a unfastened and self sufficient usa. we ought to consistently be helping different international places gain an analogous factor we've. I agree that there are ppl right here that choose help, yet a minimum of there is something being finished. additionally, ppl right here have greater means to help themselves. ppl in 0.33 worldwide international places unquestionably choose all the help they are able to get. we are so fortunate to have all that we do, i could no longer think of inquiring for greater. they do no longer ask for something, yet ppl whinge whilst others generously donate THEIR time, money, or different advice to them...this is different from those self same ppl are not donating to charities in the U.S. we'd welcome the help if we've been of their place, be grateful that we are no longer extremely than complaining with the aid of fact we do not have greater. additionally, those of you who're so in contact concerning the help we choose right here, why are you sitting at domicile on ur laptop in ur mushy chair complaining approximately how somebody could take care of it instead of doing something your self?

Seems to me the logical thing would be to try to educate these folks. But we can't even educate our own folks.
Give a man fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he is fed for life.
