Currently, astronomers believe the Universe is flat, infinite (though finite in age...around 14-15 Billion years old), and accelerating in it's expansion due to dark energy. So, it doesn't every end, yet there's an edge, but no center, nor was there ever a center. Got it? I know it's way too confusing, but this is what they now think.

As far as parallel universes go and philosophical stuff like that...your guess is probably as good as mine and everyone elses.

It is so vast that you cannot comprehend its immensity.
So, what possible difference does it make if there is any end, or not... Relatively speaking, several thousand light years distance is a distance so huge it boggles the mind, and that is just one estimated distance to a certain star in distant space. Why and how would one seek to comprehend something soooooo distant and so unverifiable from the standpoint of the common man?

The answer to this question depends on how you believe the universe was formed. if it was an accidently boom of cosmic dust, then who knows. if you, like me, believe that it was a purposeful creation of God it ends when jesus comes back.
