I'm 22 and an office manager of an insurance company. I have to wear business casual wear to work, but I hate feeling frumpy or dressing beyond my years in that attire. usually I just end up wearing company logowear. I like clothes at New York and Company, but I never find a good selection there. Does anyone know of any other brands that sound like what I'm looking for? Casual yet feminine and not tooo expensive. Thanks!

GAP, just dress formal and buy clothes from GAP etc then it won't look beyond your age, look unless you go arund in old grannys clothing and pearl necklaces you wont look beyond your age, altough pearls are so in this season, i have some to and I am your age, oh well. Look dont worry about it its only at work, but GAP do some nice clothes, nice shirts etc.

The definate best place ever for work clothes is Joyce Leslie. I hate to admit it because I generally shop in top notch places, but I really don't like to spend that much on work clothes. Also, you can always check the sale rack at Arden B. They have great stuff! Also Nordstroms (sale rack again for inexpensive). Also, try the limited or Forever 21.

Also, if you have an outlet place by you, you can get some great stuff by Banana Republic. If it's not an outlet, stay away. I bought a suit in there and it cost me $500.

Finally, absolutely check out Marshalls or an equivalent. Since work stuff tends to be pretty basic, I got some great Nine West shoes from last season for $20 and also a bunch of button downs and business shirts. No one will ever know it's from last season but you (and your bank account)

Good luck!

This is so easy. I'm 22 also and work in a big publishing company. I'm 5'2 120 lbs. I've been in business jobs since I started working at 17. Jeans and short waisted tailored suit jackets are hot. You can use any color under a black suit jacket and it's great. My favoirte is my jacket w/ a red tank top black pearl looking beads and red high heels. Another thing that is classy fun and easy is closed toed (very important) heels, fitted jeans (not too tight, not professional) and a plain white long sleeve shirt with a simple neclace, and silver hoop earings (never over 1.5"). Hair in a pony-tail and the end curled or straighten it. You can find these things anywhere. Open toed shoes in heels are a no no. Takes classy out of an outfit. w/the jackets again try to get something very form fitting, if you wear a collar wear it outside of your jacket. I have so many things i wear it's crazy. Another good one is ad a knitted scarf. Not like a grandma one but with patterns and stuff. OH, also very short waisted jean jackets are so in! again jeans and heals hair up and you're done!! IM me if you need any other tips. . . good luck!!

Try Charlotte Russe... some of the clothes there won't do well in that environment but they have some really cute business attire. I'm in the same situation as you are... 21 and an office manager and I've found some really cute clothes there. I also like Maurices and Gap.

I am 27 but I have to dress the same way and feel the same way you do. I buy a lot of my clothes at Express. It's a bit pricey but I love their pants, it is the only place I can find good work pants. You might want to try H & M. The quality isn't always the greatest but it's very reasonably priced and they have a lot of work appropriate, stylish choices. You already mentioned NY & Co, but I agree, they are very hit or miss. They are good for tops. You can dress a lot of shirts up just by wearing nice pants and heels.

I would try "express". They are a little bit more pricey and the quality and style is excellent. Also if you can hit Nordstrom when they have the half yearly sale you can buy lots of good quality stuff. I would keep your work wardrobe to a minimum and mix and match.

Amazingly enough, Ross is your best bet. They have many dress up pants and shirts that aren't too "frumpy", and they look great on younger employees. Did i mention it's CHEAP!?

well honestly as long as you wear the casual work pants with a nice proper shirt for your age and work it does not matter what brand you buy or wear.
