iv been on the depo shot for about 3 months and its time for my next shot tomarrow, but iv had changes in my body an think its bcuz of depo. During intercourse i dont get moist as much as i use to and its really anoying i also noticed my breast became smaller about a size smaller. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED IT BEFORE OR AM I CRAZY???? any suggestions for the moist problem???

Depo is very bad news. I was on it for 10 years and over that time I gained 100 lbs, lost my sex drive, turned into a biotch all the time, mood swings, and frequent headaches. Do some research on it and you will see that I am not the only one who will say this about Depo shots.
Depo Provera may not be recommended for women who are planning on becoming pregnant in the near future, are concerned about weight gain, have liver disease, gallbladder disease, or a history of depression. Study the risks and talk with your health care practitioner.
Studies released in 2004 show that Depo Provera is associated with a loss of bone density resulting in an increased risk of osteoporosis. The bone loss appears not to be reversed when the woman goes off Depo Provera. Depo is not recommended for long term use and especially not recommended when the young woman is still growing her bones.
70% of women using Depo Provera gain weight. Almost half of the women using Depo Provera gain more than 5 pounds after one year of use. Many women gain more than 10 pounds.
Other side effects of Depo Provera can include headaches, nervousness, mood changes, bloating, hot flashes, decreased interest in sex, breast tenderness, acne, hair loss, and back ache.

I had been on the Depo shot before and now I refuse to take it ever again, while on the shot I experienced the same thing as you plus I gained 30 pounds, had severe headaches, etc. I also never had a period for 1 year after I stopped taking the shot, it really messed up my system, so I decided that I should do some research on the DEPO shot and found that it was never initially intended for women, it was actually developed for chemical castration in male sex offenders. They found out later that it could be used as a contreception on women totally accidentally. As for your moisture problem all you can do is use a lubricant. If you are curious about the Depo Shot type Depoprovera into your search engine and research it fully then decide if this is really what you want to do to your body. Good Luck, Cherry Red

In my experience the depo shot has been terrible. I was on it for 3 months--NEVER again. I got constant headaches and I gained atleast 10 pounds in that short of a time span. Also, I had the same intercourse problem as you. I'm now on YAZ and I love it...My periods are so short/light, I feel great and there have been no bad side effects. Maybe think about a change?

I was on depo for four years.
I am SO GLAD I'm off of it.
You don't usually get your period while on depo, though you will spot at weird times.
I've heard a lot of women having that problem (moistness during sex) among other things. Low sex drive, etc.
I'd really reconsider getting the shot. After five years of being on it you need a bone density check as it really screws up your bone health.

I was on the depo-provera shot for 5 years,and did not experience either of those problems.Talk to your Dr.
