There are many Muslims who have spoken out against the terrorism in the Middle East --

Where no one but Muslims can see them.

Most Americans get their information from the Media, so when they don't see the Media showing anything about Muslims protesting against the terrorism they draw a conclusion that Muslims seem to accept the terrorism.

Isn't it ironic that the Media seems to capture all the bad moments on film -- As if the camera was just all of a sudden there -- And yet there is nothing about what Muslims around the Middle East think? (Not just the ones in Iraq and Iran).

I know from personal experience that many Muslims really do speak out against the terrorists but are incapable of being heard considering their no where near America where the people WANT to hear this.

So many people have had personal experiences like this (See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqSqiebIXF_jo2bStOzcwK7sy6IX?qid=20061228014508AAMKOR6 for more information)

Why dosn't the Media show that there really are Muslims who care and speak out against terrorism?

Nunya B-

Thats exactly my point --

You don't see this in PUBLIC.

Which relates to the Media --

Which websites/links follow along the lines of Media - Do you expect a camera to be right there and then?

You make a good point. I have seen only a little coverage of Muslims speaking out against terrorism.

However, I have also seen that many Muslim leaders say one thing for the TV cameras then something entirely different for their followers.

Check out the video, "Obsession"

The media does not show Muslims who speak out against terrorism because those are not true Muslims. Here look at this: http://www.obsessionthemovie.com/12min.htm
They are traitors who betray their family and religion. They are no longer believers. In this sense, the media is honest. Such traitors are not the voice of Muslims. They have sold their souls to the Western Satan and their bodies have become defiled. The media footage captures the glory of our warriors, and then they manipulate it to paint us in a bad light. 9/11 represents the victory of truth over evil, while the media twists our glory and makes it into mass murder. They never see the beauty and nobility of our people who are prepared to sacrifice everything for the glory of pleasing the Prophet and spending eternity with 70 virgins in paradise. Real Muslims do not speak out against Jihad or the great warriors of our people. They swell with pride and pray that their sons and daughters (we believe in equal rights) should follow in the ways of Jihad.

I have heard of some, but I think the Muslim leaders need to be more pro-active than they have been, prove that they have indeed been vocal against terrorism. The Christians in America are very radical these days as well, but the factions inside your faith have decided to wage war against the West...I am not Christian or Muslim and I don't like the path we are on and I believe the average Muslim needs to take some responsibility on how some of their people can use their religion to justify blowing up innocent people

Post a link to prove it on video any Muslim and/or Muslims speaking out in public against terrorism! Then I will believe it, and I'm not talking about getting your Muslim neighbor to record. I want a real honest public outcry anywhere from the Middle East that has spoke out against terrorism. Good luck.

here's a link you may be interested it... it lists several links to news stories right after 9-11 where many major muslim groups did speak out...

http://islam.about.com/cs/currentevents/a/9_11statements.htm

so they were covered... but in the post 9-11 hectic atmosphere... of course they didn't make the front page... there were a million news stories going on a the time...

but also, I think most papers don't consider someone saying "9-11 was wrong" to be actual news... it's kind of like "duh... or course it's wrong"...

I didn't see the Christian community speak out against the OKC bombing in the news... even though McVeigh was said to be catholic...
why? and why didn't anyone care?
because most people are Christian and they know how Christians think... it's a double standard...

Its what people wont to hear. and what the feds wont people to hear.the feds control the license to transmit over the airwaves. to report the news, they wont people to hate the Muslims.so that one day when we have the war of civilizations the sheeple of this country will be better lead.If most Muslims were terrorists, then with the billions of them there are we would all mostly be dead.the feds need to stay the hell out of the middle east. there business is here business., not ours.the Israelis wont us to control there neighbors. so they will be safer.and the oil company's wont the oil.flowing.It is not in the best interest of the American people to cause so much death and destruction in the middle eastern nations. The Jews must be taught to respect there neighbors better. and not kill 1000s of people for someone kidnapping two men.and also destroying an entire country, just for the hell of it. THE MEDIA's JOB IS TO CONFRIM PREJUDICE-not just racial prejudice mind you, prejudice against marijuana, rapists, big business, tobacco, etc. IT IS NO LONGER A MEDIUM OF TRUTH. You act as if the media has any credibility to begin with. (Not all reporters are hogwash, but many are more focused on rating. Very few broadcasts take the time to or can afford to admit they're wrong.)

Is this a question or a statement?

Why are newspaper editorial pages not inundated with Muslims speaking out against terrorism? Why are radio talk shows not over run with outrage from the Muslim community? Why is Don Imus not getting flooded with calls from the Muslim community?

Meanwhile, CAIR is silent about it.

What's a nation to think, when the Muslim community is silent?

I have yet to hear any Muslims speak out against terrorism. I only hear them complain that they are being discriminated against; like your question. You whine about some imagined slight yet I have not heard you actually condemn terrorists.

Even if I hear Muslims actually condemn terrorism my honest reaction will have to be that I think they are a little too late to the party.

you word the international is now searching at Muslims with a very massive mistrust.fantastically at the same time as it grew to change into sparkling that Muslims and Non-Muslims can use the same words-yet to point truly diverse issues. both an American and a Muslim can condemn terrorism.yet "terrorism" in Muslims eyes is at the same time as the Israeli squaddies kill Hamas members who attempt to deliberately attack Israeli civilians. besides the indisputable fact that, at the same time as Hamas bandits deliberately kill Israeli women human beings and little ones – it’s called “the basically war for the liberation of Palestine”. both Muslims and Non-Muslims say that the planned targeted on of civilians is inadmissible. yet WHO they recommend with the help of “civilians” is,back, very diverse. For a Muslim," a civilian" is basically someone who "does not damage the pastimes of Islam and the Ummah".So,any authorities good, even the social safe practices workers in for instance Israel, helps Israel´authorities-and is immediately hurting the pastimes of Islam and the Umma - and for that reason, turns into the valid objective.someone who,for instance, wrote a e book or ast a movie criticizing Islam or the prophet Muhammad is hurting the pastimes of Islam and the Umma-and is a valid objective, too.Do you save in options Rushdi?Van Gaugh?death threats to the author of the "Fitna" Geert Wilders? It´s not sufficient to say that you "condemn terrorism".are you able to tell me genuinely,do you completely and unconditionally condemn Usama bin encumbered and what he does?Do you condemn Hamas,Hizbollah,Islamic Jihad? in case you answer "definite"-then I shall have sparkling that you're our greatest chum interior the strive against antagonistic to the Islamic terrorism.yet in case you initiate the game Muslims are very in many circumstances taking section in with Non-Muslims ,with "definite, yet u . s . a .,Europe and Israel are the terrorists, too",or "definite, besides the indisputable fact that the palestinian human beings has the right to face up to the unlawful Zionist career" - then all of your words about the way you´re antagonistic to terrorism at the on the spot are not some thing yet a smoke reveal for the naive and good-hearted human beings. So,what´s your answer? "definite"-or "definite,yet..."?
