In the 1800s it was classical. Jazz dominated in the first half on the 20th century. Then rock was king, then hip hop. It feels like hip hop has lost it's edge, as has rock for the most part. What does the future of music behold, in your opinion?

Hip Hop...By far. I would say rock too but, Hip Hop/Rap is HUGE!!! I love punk, rock, electronic, but good newer rock/punk music is hard to come by. The bands of today are pathetic.

Country Western is the most important modern genre. Jazz, Blues, and Rock were all derived from it.
