Six days after your final day. If they don't get you your check within then you can file a claim for it. I had to do this with one employeer here who thought he didn't have to pay me for my last day or quarterly commission. There are fines that the state can impose on your employeer if it is shown they willfully refused to pay you on time, though I don't know how often that actually happens.

Texas law in this case probably does not apply, but in any case, quitting with or without notice, you can get them in serious hot water if they do not pay you in full for what you are scheduled to receive on the next normally scheduled payday, the following normal payday after that for any other work time or accrued vacation pay.

You should recieve it within the regular payroll cycle. They can not hold up your check but they are also not required to cut you a seperate check when you leave. You can get your answers at the Texas Workforce Commission. The address to the Employee Rights is http://www.twc.state.tx.us/customers/jsemp/jsempsub7.html
The workforce Commission is also where you go to get unemployment benefits, and help with job searches.
