I have read that the Evenflo Triumph Car Seat is also a great buy. My concern is safety. I was wondering if the Evenflo Car Seat as been through the same testing in Europe as the Britax Car Seat has? Has anyone had experience with both car seats? I'm a little low on cash and thats why I was looking at the Evenflo car seats.

We have one of each. We bought the Evenflo Triumph when my first outgrew his infant carseat, and now that he is almost 4, he could STILL be in it, as he hasn't hit the 40 pound weight limit yet. However, his younger brother is using it now. My oldest is now in a Britax Regent (which is a 5 pt harness for older kids). We chose the Evenflo over the Britax because our car didn't have LATCH, and according to consumer reports at the time, The Triumph worked better with a seatbelt than the Britax seats did. Things may have changed in the last few years, though. They both do really well in crash tests, in fact, they are the two top rated seats on the market. Now, I've never used the Britax convertible seats, but I find the Evenflo a bit easier to use, particularly with a rearfacing child (the side knob to tighten the harness is awesome). However, the Britax fits my older child better than the Triumph did. If you're low on cash, go with the Evenflo, especially if you're using the seatbelt to install instead of LATCH, and take it to a certified car seat technician to install it correctly. As I said, my almost 4 year old could still be in the Triumph if we didn't need it for our youngest, and my youngest is still rearfacing (the limit for rearfacing is 30 pounds in the triumph) without any complaints. :) Hope that helps!

I would look at Consumer Reports on the Internet. They will have a ratings system for car seats for babies. Britax has always been rated very well. I use a Cosco seat that was about $130 that can be used from the time children are babies up until they weigh about 80 pounds and I LOVE it! I've had it for 4 years now and still use it because it converts to a booster seat. I would research the Evenflo car seats to see what the rating is on the Consumer Reports website.

I have 2 Britax carseats for my 2 boys. Yes, they are pricey! But honestly, they are WELL worth the money. We were rear ended one time, my husband and I both had fairly severe whiplash, our son(we only had one at the time) was FINE - didn't act like anything happened, he was about 9 months old at the time and rear facing in a Britax Marathon. We did EXTENSIVE research when we purchased our first car seat and Britax was the only one that got high ratings consistently in EVERY type of crash. Most carseats on the market today are probably "okay", but you just never know what type of crash you could be involved in, I tend to err on the side of worst case scenario when protecting my children. If you can at all afford a Britax, I would STRONGLY encourage you to do so even if it means really cutting out "extras" for a period of time. And on a side note, the Eddie Bauer's are pretty and expensive, but they are made by Cosco and typically don't have very high ratings - just an observation made by my husband and I during our research. Good luck with your decision and hopefully you'll never need to know how safe your carseat really is!

I've heard the Britax car seat is good but all car seats have to pass the same tests. The key is to find the best car seat that works with you and your child. When my son was ready for a forward facing carseat, I took him to the store with me and strapped him to almost car seat. I found the one that I liked best and we bought it (It wasnt very expensive). I went to a fire station to have a fireman install it properly and securly for me. 4 weeks later we were in a horrible accident - the car that hit me was totaled and my car was nearly totaled. My son who was in the car with me went away with not even a scratch. Hope this helps.

Car seats are very thoroughly tested, and even then they end up recalled fairly often. And hopefully you will never be in an accident.

I have an Eddie Bauer one and it works pretty well for me.

I think the best way to ensure your baby's safety is to have a qualified person show you how to install the carseat, and check to see that it is installed properly at least once a week as they can slip.

The Marathon and the Decathlon are very comparable..Decathlon has extra fancy padding. the two bypass as much as 65lbs making use of the harness, it is massive. i've got no longer heard something approximately knockoffs, yet I sell on eBay and comprehend no count if it relatively is a pretend..eBay in many circumstances pulls the traditional public sale suitable off. I additionally does no longer propose figuring out to purchase one 2d hand considering the fact which you on no account comprehend how risk-free they are and in the event that they have ever been in an twist of destiny. good success!!
