I don't think husbands and wives should be disciplining each other. Issues can be discussed in a loving and thoughtful way as couples communicate openly with each other but the thought of a husband disciplining his wife in my humble opinion is not only terribly outdated and Victorian but utterly offensive. BTW I speak as a wife and mother who has never been 'disciplined'. Maybe prior to saying anything to the wife, the husband needs to think about what was said that he found so out of order, and ponder over its context, and the history up to those remarks and in the spirit of true reflection, critically evaluate whether there was a grain of truth that he could take on board in his own personal development, despite how badly it was articulated.

Are u serious? Are women still playing the inferior gender game. This is 2006. I believe that we are equal in all things. Two complete individuals coming together as one. No matter what roles they play in the relationship there should never be an issue of insubordination.

Husbands should never "discipline" their wives for anything. It is rude, selfish and crude. Wives are a reflection of their husbands.

Wives should always be treated with love and compassion.

If you are so stupid as to think you should discipline your wife someone needs to discipline you into jail, or at the very least with a ball bat across the top of your head!

Love her don't discipline her...stupid!~

I don't believe it's possible for a wife to be insubordinate to her husband. Aren't they supposed to be equals in a marriage? Father's and mother's should discipline their children..not each other.

Welcome to the 21st century! Let's all evolve shall we?

I think that husbands should treat their wives as equals. If wives don't do what their husbands tell them to do, it means that they have their own mind and if it is something that is required (like filling out insurance papers), you talk civilly and not like your wife is some piece of property. I'm not quite sure what era you're living in, but this is 2006, not 1956.

I believe once you are grown it is no one's place to discipline you unless you break the law. Spouses should be equals. If my husband ever tried to "discipline" me, I would castrate him!

i think the man will know how "fair and firm" his woman needs him to be. she will respect and acknowledge his judgement as correct and right. but i think firmer is always better than fairer.
